Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2018 Christies in Hong Kong held the auction Exquisite Eye: Chinese Paintings Online, which included the work Bamboo and Rock by Hu Gongshou. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of HKD 20,000.00 – 40,000.00, the actual price achieved of HKD 25,000.00 (€ 2,821.69) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Hu Gongshou achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Journey Into The Mountains in October 2015 with an auction result of HKD 437,500.00 (€ 51,111.66).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im November 2018 führte Christies in Hong Kong die Auktion Exquisite Eye: Chinese Paintings Online durch, in der auch die Arbeit Bamboo and Rock von Hu Gongshou zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von HKD 20.000,00 – 40.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von HKD 25.000,00 (€ 2.821,69) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Hu Gongshou erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Journey Into The Mountains im Oktober 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 437.500,00 (€ 51.111,66).
