Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work A cairn terrier and her puppies in a conservatory by Henriëtte Ronner-Knip was auctioned at Christies in Amsterdam in November 2016, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of EUR 20,000.00 – 30,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for EUR 18,750.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Henriëtte Ronner-Knip achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Kittens At Play in October 2006 with an auction result of EUR 342,400.00.
