Upper estimated price slightly exceeded

In December 2017 Phillips in New York held the auction Henri Cartier-Bresson: The Eye of the Century, which included the work Pavement School, Jaipur, India by Henri Cartier-Bresson. The »bidding war« ended at USD 17,500.00 (€ 14,556.65), 17% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Henri Cartier-Bresson achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work On the Banks of the Marne, France in April 2017 with an auction result of USD 212,500.00 (€ 195,043.60).

Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen

Im Dezember 2017 führte Phillips in New York die Auktion Henri Cartier-Bresson: The Eye of the Century durch, in der auch die Arbeit Pavement School, Jaipur, India von Henri Cartier-Bresson zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 17.500,00 (€ 14.556,65) und damit 17% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Henri Cartier-Bresson erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit On the Banks of the Marne, France im April 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 212.500,00 (€ 195.043,60).
