In the Modern British and Irish Art auction, the work Study of a Seated Girl with Clasped Hands sold for GBP 8,925.00 (€ 9,970.02) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 5,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Gwen John achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Convalescent in July 2013 with an auction result of GBP 200,500.00 (€ 229,106.20).

Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Gwen John erzielen.
