Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Gwen John achieved an unexpectedly high price at Bonhams in London in July last year. In the Modern British and Irish Art auction, the work House in Trees sold for GBP 4,080.00 (€ 4,872.24) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 1,500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Gwen John achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Convalescent in July 2013 with an auction result of GBP 200,500.00 (€ 229,106.20).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Gwen John erzielte im Juli letzten Jahres bei Bonhams in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Modern British and Irish Art wurde die Arbeit House in Trees für GBP 4.080,00 (€ 4.872,24) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 1.500,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Gwen John erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Convalescent im Juli 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 200.500,00 (€ 229.106,20).
