Description
Previously in the Collection of Shum Yip Leong

Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Guan Shanyue achieved an unexpectedly high price at Bonhams in London in June this year. In the Fine Chinese Paintings auction, the work White And Pink Roses sold for HKD 204,800.00 (€ 23,930.84) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 80,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Guan Shanyue achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Sketching in the Qilian Mountains in May 2013 with an auction result of HKD 9,390,000.00 (€ 931,191.87).
