Artwork auctioned at three times the upper estimate price
When the work Plum Blossoms And Bamboo by Guan Shanyue was auctioned at China Guardian in Hong Kong in April this year, the result exceeded expectations many times over. The upper estimate was set at a - in retrospect quite modest - HKD 20,000.00 but the actual price achieved was more than three times as high at HKD 72,000.00 (€ 73,526.09). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Guan Shanyue achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Sketching in the Qilian Mountains in May 2013 with an auction result of HKD 9,390,000.00 (€ 931,191.87).
Kunstwerk zum Dreifachen des oberen Schätzpreises versteigert
Als die Arbeit Plum Blossoms And Bamboo von Guan Shanyue im April diesen Jahres bei China Guardian in Hong Kong versteigert wurde, übertraf das Ergebnis die Erwartungen um ein Vielfaches. Der obere Schätzpreis war mit – rückwirkend betrachtet recht bescheidenen – HKD 20.000,00 angesetzt, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis hingegen war mit HKD 72.000,00 (€ 73.526,09) mehr als dreimal so hoch. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Guan Shanyue erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Sketching in the Qilian Mountains im Mai 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 9.390.000,00 (€ 931.191,87).
