The work Rugged Landscape by Gu Mei was sold in the Fine Chinese Modern Paintings auction at Christies in Hong Kong in May 2014. The »bidding war« ended at HKD 137,500.00 (€ 13,004.03), 72% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Gu Mei - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Red Cliff, which sold at auction in April last year for HKD 327,600.00 (€ 39,609.22).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 72 % übertroffen
Die Arbeit Rugged Landscape von Gu Mei wurde im Mai 2014 in der Auktion Fine Chinese Modern Paintings bei Christies in Hong Kong versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von HKD 137.500,00 (€ 13.004,03) und damit 72% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Gu Mei mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Red Cliff beobachtet, die im April letzten Jahres für HKD 327.600,00 (€ 39.609,22) versteigert wurde.
