Auction result well in line with expectations
In April 2001 Christies in Hong Kong held the auction FINE MODERN AND CONTEMPORARY CHINESE PAINTINGS, which included the work Landscape In Snow by Gu Mei. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of HKD 60,000.00 – 80,000.00, the actual price achieved of HKD 64,625.00 (€ 9,336.18) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Gu Mei have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Red Cliff in April last year with an auction result of HKD 327,600.00 (€ 39,609.22).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im April 2001 führte Christies in Hong Kong die Auktion FINE MODERN AND CONTEMPORARY CHINESE PAINTINGS durch, in der auch die Arbeit Landscape In Snow von Gu Mei zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von HKD 60.000,00 – 80.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von HKD 64.625,00 (€ 9.336,18) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Gu Mei auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Red Cliff im April letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 327.600,00 (€ 39.609,22).
