In December 2015 Christies in Hong Kong held the auction Fine Chinese Modern Paintings, which included the work Cloudy Mountains by Gu Mei. The »bidding war« ended at HKD 52,500.00 (€ 6,236.76), 31% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Gu Mei have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Red Cliff in April last year with an auction result of HKD 327,600.00 (€ 39,609.22).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 31 % übertroffen
Im Dezember 2015 führte Christies in Hong Kong die Auktion Fine Chinese Modern Paintings durch, in der auch die Arbeit Cloudy Mountains von Gu Mei zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von HKD 52.500,00 (€ 6.236,76) und damit 31% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Gu Mei auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Red Cliff im April letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 327.600,00 (€ 39.609,22).
