The work The Bicycle by Gerard Sekoto was auctioned at Bonhams in London in March last year. It achieved a price of GBP 40,250.00 (€ 47,720.91), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 34%. Admittedly, works by Gerard Sekoto have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Portrait of a man (Lentswana) in September 2018 with an auction result of GBP 380,750.00 (€ 427,631.20).

Die Arbeit The Bicycle von Gerard Sekoto kam im März letzten Jahres bei Bonhams in London zur Auktion. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von GBP 40.250,00 (€ 47.720,91) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 34%. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Gerard Sekoto auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Portrait of a man (Lentswana) im September 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 380.750,00 (€ 427.631,20).
