Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Portrait Bleu by Gerard Sekoto was auctioned at Sothebys in London in March last year. It achieved a price of GBP 52,920.00 (€ 62,742.62), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 18%. Admittedly, works by Gerard Sekoto have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Portrait of a man (Lentswana) in September 2018 with an auction result of GBP 380,750.00 (€ 427,631.20).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Portrait Bleu von Gerard Sekoto kam im März letzten Jahres bei Sothebys in London zur Auktion. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von GBP 52.920,00 (€ 62.742,62) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 18%. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Gerard Sekoto auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Portrait of a man (Lentswana) im September 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 380.750,00 (€ 427.631,20).
