Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Amy by Gérard Deschamps was auctioned at Sothebys in Paris in December 2012, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of EUR 10,000.00 – 15,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for EUR 8,125.00. Admittedly, works by Gérard Deschamps have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Siri Ya Furaha Haionekani in June 2020 with an auction result of EUR 68,750.00.
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Amy von Gérard Deschamps im Dezember 2012 bei Sothebys in Paris versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von EUR 10.000,00 – 15.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für EUR 8.125,00 den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Gérard Deschamps auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Siri Ya Furaha Haionekani im Juni 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 68.750,00.
