Admittedly, works by Georgius Jacobus Johannes van Os have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Roses, peonies, irises, hollyhocks, narcissi, blazing star, primulas, marigolds and other flowers with a Five-spot burnet moth in a vase with a river god carved in relief on a plinth with tulips, morning glory, clematis, an Orange-tip butterfly, a Re in December 2005 with an auction result of GBP 220

Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 61.000,00 (€ 41.102,35) und damit 74% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Georgius Jacobus Johannes van Os auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Roses, peonies, irises, hollyhocks, narcissi, blazing star, primulas, marigolds and other flowers with a Five-spot burnet moth in a vase with a river god carved in relief on a plinth with tulips, morning glory, clematis, an Orange-tip butterfly, a Re im Dezember 2005 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 220.800,00 (€ 320.478,84).
