This artwork by George Chinnery achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Paris in July this year. In the Remastered: Old Masters from the Collection of J.E. Safra - Selling Without Reserve auction, the work A view of the inner harbour, Macau, from the Casa Gardens sold for GBP 176,400.00 (€ 205,805.34) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 100,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by George Chinnery - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Reeves Macao Album, 1836-1837, which sold at auction in July 2006 for GBP 332,800.00 (€ 487,180.19).

Dieses Kunstwerk von George Chinnery erzielte im Juli diesen Jahres bei Christies in Paris einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Remastered: Old Masters from the Collection of J.E. Safra - Selling Without Reserve wurde die Arbeit A view of the inner harbour, Macau, from the Casa Gardens für GBP 176.400,00 (€ 205.805,34) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 100.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von George Chinnery mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit The Reeves Macao Album, 1836-1837 beobachtet, die im Juli 2006 für GBP 332.800,00 (€ 487.180,19) versteigert wurde.
