Auction result well in line with expectations
The work A street scene before a fortified gateway, Rhodes by Georg Macco was sold in the British and Continental Pictures and Works on Paper auction at Christies in London in August 2003. The price achieved of GBP 352.50 (€ 506.10) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 300.00 – 400.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Georg Macco achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Orange Seller, Outside Bab Zuwayla, Cairo in April 2006 with an auction result of USD 48,000.00 (€ 38,022.81).

Die Arbeit A street scene before a fortified gateway, Rhodes von Georg Macco wurde im August 2003 in der Auktion British and Continental Pictures and Works on Paper bei Christies in London versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 352,50 (€ 506,10) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 300,00 – 400,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Georg Macco erzielen.
