Artwork auctioned at three times the upper estimate price
When the work Eagle On Branch by Gao Qifeng was auctioned at Sothebys in Hong Kong in October 2019, the result exceeded expectations many times over. The upper estimate was set at a - in retrospect quite modest - HKD 180,000.00 but the actual price achieved was more than three times as high at HKD 625,000.00 (€ 71,436.58). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Gao Qifeng achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Roaring Lion in April 2014 with an auction result of HKD 15,640,000.00 (€ 1,454,621.49).
Kunstwerk zum Dreifachen des oberen Schätzpreises versteigert
Als die Arbeit Eagle On Branch von Gao Qifeng im Oktober 2019 bei Sothebys in Hong Kong versteigert wurde, übertraf das Ergebnis die Erwartungen um ein Vielfaches. Der obere Schätzpreis war mit – rückwirkend betrachtet recht bescheidenen – HKD 180.000,00 angesetzt, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis hingegen war mit HKD 625.000,00 (€ 71.436,58) mehr als dreimal so hoch. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Gao Qifeng erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Roaring Lion im April 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 15.640.000,00 (€ 1.454.621,49).
