This artwork by Friedrich August von Kaulbach achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Amsterdam in December 2009. In the European Noble and Private Collections auction, the work Portrait of the actress Hanna Ralph (1885-1978), standing three-quarter-length holding a white shawl sold for EUR 8,750.00 - well above the upper estimate of EUR 3,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Friedrich August von Kaulbach - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Pomona, which sold at auction in February 2012 for GBP 17,500.00 (€ 20,895.46).

Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen

Dieses Kunstwerk von Friedrich August von Kaulbach erzielte im Dezember 2009 bei Christies in Amsterdam einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion European Noble and Private Collections wurde die Arbeit Portrait of the actress Hanna Ralph (1885-1978), standing three-quarter-length holding a white shawl für EUR 8.750,00 versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von EUR 3.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Friedrich August von Kaulbach mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Pomona beobachtet, die im Februar 2012 für GBP 17.500,00 (€ 20.895,46) versteigert wurde.
