In March 2007 Sothebys in Amsterdam held the auction Paintings, Drawings and Watercolours, which included the work Woodgatherers Along A Canal In A Snow Covered Landscape by Fredericus Jacobus van Rossum du Chattel. The »bidding war« ended at EUR 9,000.00 50% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Fredericus Jacobus van Rossum du Chattel - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Late summer dawn, which sold at auction in October 2000 for NLG 46,808.00 (€ 22,466.30).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 50 % übertroffen
Im März 2007 führte Sothebys in Amsterdam die Auktion Paintings, Drawings and Watercolours durch, in der auch die Arbeit Woodgatherers Along A Canal In A Snow Covered Landscape von Fredericus Jacobus van Rossum du Chattel zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von EUR 9.000,00 und damit 50% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Fredericus Jacobus van Rossum du Chattel mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Late summer dawn beobachtet, die im Oktober 2000 für NLG 46.808,00 (€ 22.466,30) versteigert wurde.
