Auction result misses estimated price range
In September 2011 a collector was able to acquire the work P.L.M. Dauphiné-Briançonnais by Frederic Hugo d'Alesi for EUR 162.50. This price was achieved in the auction L'âge d'or du rail - Souvenirs de la Compagnie Internationale des Wagons-lits at Christies in Paris and was even below the estimate range of EUR 300.00 – 500.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Frederic Hugo d'Alesi achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Hyères in June 2014 with an auction result of GBP 2,000.00 (€ 2,498.90).
