Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Untitled, Various Series by Frédéric Bruly Bouabré was sold in the Modern and Contemporary African Art auction at Sothebys in London in October 2019. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 20,000.00 – 30,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 22,500.00 (€ 26,098.39) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Frédéric Bruly Bouabré - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Costumes - 2010, which sold at auction in December 2017 for EUR 58,500.00.
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Untitled, Various Series von Frédéric Bruly Bouabré wurde im Oktober 2019 in der Auktion Modern and Contemporary African Art bei Sothebys in London versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 20.000,00 – 30.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 22.500,00 (€ 26.098,39) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Frédéric Bruly Bouabré mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Costumes - 2010 beobachtet, die im Dezember 2017 für EUR 58.500,00 versteigert wurde.
