Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In October 2018 Sothebys in New York held the auction Contemporary Photographs, which included the work 'Stadt 7/12 (Berlin)' by Frank Thiel. The »bidding war« ended at USD 60,000.00 (€ 52,947.41), 20% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Frank Thiel - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work „Die Alliierten“., which sold at auction in November 2019 for EUR 112,500.00.
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Oktober 2018 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Contemporary Photographs durch, in der auch die Arbeit 'Stadt 7/12 (Berlin)' von Frank Thiel zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 60.000,00 (€ 52.947,41) und damit 20% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Frank Thiel mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit „Die Alliierten“. beobachtet, die im November 2019 für EUR 112.500,00 versteigert wurde.
