This artwork by François Bonvin achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in May 2017. In the 19th Century European Art auction, the work Still Life with a Pipe sold for USD 23,750.00 (€ 21,137.42) - well above the upper estimate of USD 12,000.00. Admittedly, works by François Bonvin have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work L'écolier in July 2010 with an auction result of GBP 169,250.00 (€ 203,504.06).

Dieses Kunstwerk von François Bonvin erzielte im Mai 2017 bei Christies in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion 19th Century European Art wurde die Arbeit Still Life with a Pipe für USD 23.750,00 (€ 21.137,42) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 12.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von François Bonvin auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit L'écolier im Juli 2010 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 169.250,00 (€ 203.504,06).
