The work A seated monk with a standing acolyte by François Bonvin was sold in the Master Paintings and Drawings auction at Sothebys in New York in October 2021. The »bidding war« ended at USD 1,386.00 (€ 1,199.79), 73% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by François Bonvin achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work L'écolier in July 2010 with an auction result of GBP 169,250.00 (€ 203,504.06).

Die Arbeit A seated monk with a standing acolyte von François Bonvin wurde im Oktober 2021 in der Auktion Master Paintings and Drawings bei Sothebys in New York versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 1.386,00 (€ 1.199,79) und damit 73% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von François Bonvin erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit L'écolier im Juli 2010 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 169.250,00 (€ 203.504,06).
