Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Man by Fernando Botero was sold in the Latin American Art auction at Christies in New York in November 2015. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 500,000.00 – 700,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 521,000.00 (€ 493,277.79) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Fernando Botero have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Musicians in November this year with an auction result of USD 5,132,000.00 (€ 4,704,803.81).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Man von Fernando Botero wurde im November 2015 in der Auktion Latin American Art bei Christies in New York versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 500.000,00 – 700.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 521.000,00 (€ 493.277,79) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Fernando Botero auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The Musicians im November diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 5.132.000,00 (€ 4.704.803,81).
