Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work 2004.3.7 by Fang Lijun was auctioned at Phillips in Hong Kong in June last year, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of HKD 300,000.00 – 500,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for HKD 252,000.00 (€ 30,666.54). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Fang Lijun achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Series 2 No. 4 in October 2014 with an auction result of HKD 59,480,000.00 (€ 6,123,639.27).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit 2004.3.7 von Fang Lijun im Juni letzten Jahres bei Phillips in Hong Kong versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von HKD 300.000,00 – 500.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für HKD 252.000,00 (€ 30.666,54) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Fang Lijun erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Series 2 No. 4 im Oktober 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 59.480.000,00 (€ 6.123.639,27).
