This work of art by Erik Ludwig Henningsen could be acquired at Christies in London in June 2002 for an unexpectedly low price. In the 19th Century European Art including Ottomans and Orientalist auction, the work Making an acquaintance changed hands for GBP 752.00 (€ 1,163.17) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 800.00 – 1,200.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Erik Ludwig Henningsen achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Copenhagen, Ostergade at Christmas in September 2018 with an auction result of GBP 62,500.00 (€ 70,195.53).
