Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Windy Day, Venice by Edward Seago was auctioned at Christies in London in December 2014. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 20,000.00 – 30,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 22,500.00 (€ 28,964.96) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Edward Seago have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Household Cavalry in the Mall in July 2018 with an auction result of GBP 175,000.00 (€ 196,213.48).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Windy Day, Venice von Edward Seago kam im Dezember 2014 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 20.000,00 – 30.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 22.500,00 (€ 28.964,96) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Edward Seago auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Household Cavalry in the Mall im Juli 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 175.000,00 (€ 196.213,48).
