Auction result misses estimated price range
In November this year a collector was able to acquire the work Soyaksin - Blood by Edward Sheriff Curtis for USD 307.20 (€ 281.63). This price was achieved in the auction California and Western Art Online at Bonhams in Los Angeles and was even below the estimate range of USD 800.00 – 1,200.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Edward Sheriff Curtis achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The North American Indian, Portfolios 1-20; and Volumes 1-20 in October 2005 with an auction result of USD 1,416,000.00 (€ 1,180,491.87).

Im November diesen Jahres konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Soyaksin - Blood von Edward Sheriff Curtis für USD 307,20 (€ 281,63) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion California and Western Art Online bei Bonhams in Los Angeles erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 800,00 – 1.200,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Edward Sheriff Curtis erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The North American Indian, Portfolios 1-20; and Volumes 1-20 im Oktober 2005 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 1.416.000,00 (€ 1.180.491,87).
