Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In November this year Bonhams in Los Angeles held the auction California and Western Art Online, which included the work Bow River-Blackfoot by Edward Sheriff Curtis. Here, the upper estimate of USD 1,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 1,088.00 (€ 997.43). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Edward Sheriff Curtis achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The North American Indian, Portfolios 1-20; and Volumes 1-20 in October 2005 with an auction result of USD 1,416,000.00 (€ 1,180,491.87).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im November diesen Jahres führte Bonhams in Los Angeles die Auktion California and Western Art Online durch, in der auch die Arbeit Bow River-Blackfoot von Edward Sheriff Curtis zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von USD 1.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für USD 1.088,00 (€ 997,43) einen neuen Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Edward Sheriff Curtis erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The North American Indian, Portfolios 1-20; and Volumes 1-20 im Oktober 2005 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 1.416.000,00 (€ 1.180.491,87).
