Auction result well in line with expectations
In October 2020 Sothebys in New York held the auction European Paintings, Drawings & Sculptures, which included the work Bouquinistes, Notre Dame by Édouard Cortès. The price achieved of USD 13,860.00 (€ 11,900.06) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 12,000.00 – 18,000.00. Admittedly, works by Édouard Cortès have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Boulevard in Montmartre, Paris in November 2012 with an auction result of EUR 73,000.00.
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Oktober 2020 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion European Paintings, Drawings & Sculptures durch, in der auch die Arbeit Bouquinistes, Notre Dame von Édouard Cortès zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 13.860,00 (€ 11.900,06) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 12.000,00 – 18.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Édouard Cortès auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Boulevard in Montmartre, Paris im November 2012 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 73.000,00.
