In November this year Bonhams in London held the auction Modern British Art, which included the work Still life with Apples and Decanter 77 x 57.7 cm. (30 1/4 x 22 5/8 in.) by Duncan Grant. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 24,320.00 (€ 28,181.59), 35% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Duncan Grant achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Vanessa Bell in a Yellow Shawl 72.7 x 51.5 cm. (28 5/8 x 20 1/4 in.) in November last year with an auction result of GBP 327,900.00 (€ 379,961.23).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 35 % übertroffen
Im November diesen Jahres führte Bonhams in London die Auktion Modern British Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Still life with Apples and Decanter 77 x 57.7 cm. (30 1/4 x 22 5/8 in.) von Duncan Grant zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 24.320,00 (€ 28.181,59) und damit 35% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Duncan Grant erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Vanessa Bell in a Yellow Shawl 72.7 x 51.5 cm. (28 5/8 x 20 1/4 in.) im November letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 327.900,00 (€ 379.961,23).
