Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Brenda by David Hockney was auctioned at Christies in London in February 2012. The price achieved of GBP 4,750.00 (€ 5,671.63) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by David Hockney achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Nichols Canyon in December 2020 with an auction result of USD 41,067,500.00 (€ 33,579,313.16).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Brenda von David Hockney kam im Februar 2012 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 4.750,00 (€ 5.671,63) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 4.000,00 – 6.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von David Hockney erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Nichols Canyon im Dezember 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 41.067.500,00 (€ 33.579.313,16).
