Auction result misses estimated price range
In March last year a collector was able to acquire the work Llampeter Church, Wales; with a subsidiary study of a building and trees (verso) by David Cox for GBP 630.00 (€ 746.94). This price was achieved in the auction Dramas of Light and Land: The Martyn Gregory Collection of British Art at Christies in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 1,000.00 – 1,500.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by David Cox achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Rhyl Sands in November 2002 with an auction result of GBP 43,020.00 (€ 67,367.10).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im März letzten Jahres konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Llampeter Church, Wales; with a subsidiary study of a building and trees (verso) von David Cox für GBP 630,00 (€ 746,94) erwerben.
