Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Horseman on a track, near Bolsover Castle, Derbyshire by David Cox was auctioned at Christies in London in July last year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 2,500.00 – 3,500.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 2,520.00 (€ 3,009.33) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by David Cox achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Rhyl Sands in November 2002 with an auction result of GBP 43,020.00 (€ 67,367.10).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Horseman on a track, near Bolsover Castle, Derbyshire von David Cox kam im Juli letzten Jahres bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 2.500,00 – 3.500,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 2.520,00 (€ 3.009,33) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von David Cox erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Rhyl Sands im November 2002 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 43.020,00 (€ 67.367,10).
