In June this year Christies in London held the auction The Robin and Rupert Hambro Collection, which included the work Bird-Vase Still Life on Blue by Craigie Aitchison. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 44,100.00 (€ 51,324.81), 47% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Craigie Aitchison - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Nandi Bull in Front of Temple III, which sold at auction in November 2021 for GBP 138,600.00 (€ 162,729.44).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 47 % übertroffen
Im Juni diesen Jahres führte Christies in London die Auktion The Robin and Rupert Hambro Collection durch, in der auch die Arbeit Bird-Vase Still Life on Blue von Craigie Aitchison zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 44.100,00 (€ 51.324,81) und damit 47% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Craigie Aitchison mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Nandi Bull in Front of Temple III beobachtet, die im November 2021 für GBP 138.600,00 (€ 162.729,44) versteigert wurde.
