This artwork by Craigie Aitchison achieved an unexpectedly high price at Bonhams in London in November last year. In the Modern British and Irish Art auction, the work Mixed flowers 40.6 x 40.6 cm. (16 x 16 in.) Painted circa 1956 sold for GBP 16,575.00 (€ 19,206.64) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 8,000.00. Admittedly, works by Craigie Aitchison have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Nandi Bull in Front of Temple III in November 2021 with an auction result of GBP 138,600.00 (€ 162,729.44).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Craigie Aitchison erzielte im November letzten Jahres bei Bonhams in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Modern British and Irish Art wurde die Arbeit Mixed flowers 40.6 x 40.6 cm. (16 x 16 in.) Painted circa 1956 für GBP 16.575,00 (€ 19.206,64) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 8.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Craigie Aitchison auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Nandi Bull in Front of Temple III im November 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 138.600,00 (€ 162.729,44).
