Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Anemones with red background 40.6 x 40.6 cm. (16 x 16 in.) Painted circa 1956/7 by Craigie Aitchison was auctioned at Bonhams in London in November last year. It changed hands for a price of GBP 7,650.00 (€ 8,864.60) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 6,000.00 – 8,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Craigie Aitchison achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Nandi Bull in Front of Temple III in November 2021 with an auction result of GBP 138,600.00 (€ 162,729.44).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Anemones with red background 40.6 x 40.6 cm. (16 x 16 in.) Painted circa 1956/7 von Craigie Aitchison kam im November letzten Jahres bei Bonhams in London zur Auktion. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 7.650,00 (€ 8.864,60) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 6.000,00 – 8.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Craigie Aitchison erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Nandi Bull in Front of Temple III im November 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 138.600,00 (€ 162.729,44).
