Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Constantin Meunier could be acquired at Christies in Amsterdam in March 2009 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Nineteen to Now - 'Art from the 19th, 20th & 21st centuries' auction, the work Hiercheuse changed hands for EUR 1,250.00 - missing the lower end of the estimate range of EUR 1,500.00 – 2,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Constantin Meunier achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Le semeur in June 2010 with an auction result of GBP 313,250.00 (€ 380,941.16).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Constantin Meunier konnte im März 2009 bei Christies in Amsterdam für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Nineteen to Now - 'Art from the 19th, 20th & 21st centuries' wechselte die Arbeit Hiercheuse für EUR 1.250,00 den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von EUR 1.500,00 – 2.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Constantin Meunier erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Le semeur im Juni 2010 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 313.250,00 (€ 380.941,16).
