The »bidding war« ended at EUR 10,240.00 28% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Vardea Chryssa achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Les portes de Times Square, New York in May last year with an auction result of EUR 315,375.00.

Die Arbeit Sans titre, Jaune 57 x 31.5x 22cm (22 7/16 x 12 3/8 8 11/16in). von Vardea Chryssa wurde im November diesen Jahres in der Auktion The Greek Sale bei Bonhams in Paris versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von EUR 10.240,00 und damit 28% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Vardea Chryssa erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Les portes de Times Square, New York im Mai letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 315.375,00.
