Auction result well in line with expectations
The work New York City Scape (42) 100 x 64 x 25cm (39 3/8 x 25 3/16 x 9 13/16in). by Vardea Chryssa was sold in the The Greek Sale auction at Bonhams in Paris in November this year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of EUR 40,000.00 – 60,000.00, the actual price achieved of EUR 40,960.00 could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Vardea Chryssa have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Les portes de Times Square, New York in May last year with an auction result of EUR 315,375.00.
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit New York City Scape (42) 100 x 64 x 25cm (39 3/8 x 25 3/16 x 9 13/16in). von Vardea Chryssa wurde im November diesen Jahres in der Auktion The Greek Sale bei Bonhams in Paris versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von EUR 40.000,00 – 60.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von EUR 40.960,00 konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Vardea Chryssa auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Les portes de Times Square, New York im Mai letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 315.375,00.
