In November 2018 Sothebys in New York held the auction Space Exploration, which included the work Study For "Across The Space Frontier" Depicting The Aristillus And Autolycus Craters, Circa 1950 by Chesley Bonestell. The price achieved of USD 6,250.00 (€ 5,519.74) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 5,000.00 – 7,500.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Chesley Bonestell - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A Panoramic View Of The San Francisco Bay And Treasure Island, which sold at auction in August 2019 for USD 13,825.00 (€ 12,580.76).

Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 6.250,00 (€ 5.519,74) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 5.000,00 – 7.500,00 angegeben worden.
