In May this year Christies in Cologne held the auction Fine Chinese Modern and Contemporary Ink Paintings, which included the work Floral scent by Cheng Shifa. The »bidding war« ended at HKD 277,200.00 (€ 33,225.49), 54% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Cheng Shifa achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Ladies in Leisurely Pursuits in May 2014 with an auction result of HKD 7,480,000.00 (€ 707,419.35).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 54 % übertroffen
Im Mai diesen Jahres führte Christies in Köln die Auktion Fine Chinese Modern and Contemporary Ink Paintings durch, in der auch die Arbeit Floral scent von Cheng Shifa zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von HKD 277.200,00 (€ 33.225,49) und damit 54% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Cheng Shifa erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Ladies in Leisurely Pursuits im Mai 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 7.480.000,00 (€ 707.419,35).
