Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Portrait Of An Elderly Woman by Charles-Nicolas Cochin the Younger was auctioned at Sothebys in London in July 2015, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 3,000.00 – 4,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 1,250.00 (€ 1,772.08). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Charles-Nicolas Cochin the Younger achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A seated couple playing backgammon by candlelight in July 2003 with an auction result of GBP 33,460.00 (€ 43,734.48).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Portrait Of An Elderly Woman von Charles-Nicolas Cochin the Younger im Juli 2015 bei Sothebys in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 3.000,00 – 4.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 1.250,00 (€ 1.772,08) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Charles-Nicolas Cochin the Younger erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit A seated couple playing backgammon by candlelight im Juli 2003 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 33.460,00 (€ 43.734,48).
