It changed hands for a price of GBP 3,750.00 (€ 4,729.93) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 3,000.00 – 4,000.00. Admittedly, works by Charles-Nicolas Cochin the Younger have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A seated couple playing backgammon by candlelight in July 2003 with an auction result of GBP 33,460.00 (€ 43,734.48).
