Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Bhupen Khakhar achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in March 2021. In the South Asian Modern + Contemporary Art Online auction, the work Untitled (Man) sold for USD 37,500.00 (€ 31,933.92) - well above the upper estimate of USD 15,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Bhupen Khakhar achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Residency Bungalow in June this year with an auction result of GBP 1,984,400.00 (€ 2,309,499.96).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Bhupen Khakhar erzielte im März 2021 bei Christies in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion South Asian Modern + Contemporary Art Online wurde die Arbeit Untitled (Man) für USD 37.500,00 (€ 31.933,92) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 15.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Bhupen Khakhar erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Residency Bungalow im Juni diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 1.984.400,00 (€ 2.309.499,96).
