Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The Red Colour & Grills Spilled over his Face by Bhupen Khakhar was auctioned at Christies in New York in July 2020. The price achieved of USD 10,000.00 (€ 8,493.29) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 8,000.00 – 12,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Bhupen Khakhar achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Residency Bungalow in June this year with an auction result of GBP 1,984,400.00 (€ 2,309,499.96).

Die Arbeit The Red Colour & Grills Spilled over his Face von Bhupen Khakhar kam im Juli 2020 bei Christies in New York zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 10.000,00 (€ 8.493,29) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 8.000,00 – 12.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Bhupen Khakhar erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Residency Bungalow im Juni diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 1.984.400,00 (€ 2.309.499,96).
