Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Betty Swanwick could be acquired at Christies in London in October 2011 for an unexpectedly low price. In the 20th Century British Art auction, the work The River; Study for The River changed hands for GBP 3,750.00 (€ 4,339.91) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Betty Swanwick - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Flight of the Doves, which sold at auction in February 2008 for GBP 6,875.00 (€ 8,992.23).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Betty Swanwick konnte im Oktober 2011 bei Christies in London für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion 20th Century British Art wechselte die Arbeit The River; Study for The River für GBP 3.750,00 (€ 4.339,91) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 4.000,00 – 6.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Betty Swanwick mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit The Flight of the Doves beobachtet, die im Februar 2008 für GBP 6.875,00 (€ 8.992,23) versteigert wurde.
