Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Benjamin Williams Leader could be acquired at Christies in Paris in July this year for an unexpectedly low price. In the Remastered: Old Masters from the Collection of J.E. Safra - Selling Without Reserve auction, the work Among the Welsh hills changed hands for GBP 5,040.00 (€ 5,880.15) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Benjamin Williams Leader achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Kempsey Church on the River Severn in June 2000 with an auction result of GBP 135,750.00 (€ 215,180.46).

In der Auktion Remastered: Old Masters from the Collection of J.E. Safra - Selling Without Reserve wechselte die Arbeit Among the Welsh hills für GBP 5.040,00 (€ 5.880,15) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 10.000,00 – 15.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Benjamin Williams Leader erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Kempsey Church on the River Severn im Juni 2000 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 135.750,00 (€ 215.180,46).
