Auction result well in line with expectations
In November this year Bonhams in London held the auction British and European Art, which included the work A Worcestershire cottage by Benjamin Williams Leader. It changed hands for a price of GBP 2,816.00 (€ 3,263.13) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 2,000.00 – 3,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Benjamin Williams Leader achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Kempsey Church on the River Severn in June 2000 with an auction result of GBP 135,750.00 (€ 215,180.46).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im November diesen Jahres führte Bonhams in London die Auktion British and European Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit A Worcestershire cottage von Benjamin Williams Leader zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 2.816,00 (€ 3.263,13) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 2.000,00 – 3.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Benjamin Williams Leader erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Kempsey Church on the River Severn im Juni 2000 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 135.750,00 (€ 215.180,46).
